Hi
I've not gotten round to updating my copper broadband for family health reasons but had Openreach email saying they coming round to update digital phone & putting me on core 67 which is FTTC even though full fibre is on my street. I will receive my smart hub plus & phone adaptor shortly.
They say i have a fortnight to change mind, not sure what that means as won't be going back to copper but just wondered if FTTC will still work ok after the switch off in January? I guess they wouldn't be doing it if it didn't. i Should've just ordered FTTP but as said i haven't . I guess i'll get this done & upgrade after.. I didn't think if FF was available on my street they would do FTTC.
Thanks

"...cable straight into master socket it dropped mbps"
As I warned in my second post, back on page 3.
The problem will be the same with FTTC, as it is down to the cable you are using. If you insist on running a line all the way upstairs, bite the bullet, put full fibre in and use a cat 5e ethernet cable. You won't see any loss with that.

@Denzel99 : We all see diff page nos. To fix on a particular post use the Highlight Option. In this instance your 2nd post is Re: Openreach installing FTTC when FTTP is available - The EE Community

@XRaySpeX Thanks for that but why not just number the posts, as they do on the BT forum? It would be a lot easier.

Ok so hopefully this I've bought will work instead of the upstairs filter. Then I have only 1 filter downstairs

It's a rj11 to BT female adapter. The broadband cable can go into it and the male BT plug goes into the female BT plug on the carpet. Connects like the filter but isn't one

@gazmix_1973 Then plug it in just now, you should have no problems at all using it, your ADSL filter downstairs is protecting your voice line currently. Please get this into your head, come Wednesday when OR or a Contractor for them comes you will have NO FILTERS WHAT SO EVER, hopefully your connection works and the speed hit is not too big.
Hopefully your gender is wrong as it's a RJ11 to a Male BT phone connection.

It's off Amazon. Coming tomorrow. So this will work and I then only have one filter downstairs at the master socket. It says it's 4 wire female socket.
Rj11 to BT adapter rj11 4 wire female socket to BT male plug for UK phone.

@gazmix_1973 Only needs to be two wired, but the four wired is fine. Just unplug your old and stick the new one on.
Your change is happening on Wed is that correct? Expect a few hours down while the Engineer sorts it all out.
Link the Amazon you have done so i can look at what you have purchased.
