Thought I would ask a question, not sure if possible.

So I have signed up with EE for the 1.6gbps and Smart Hub Pro Wifi 7.

Initially due to install this week, but got a new date of 27th June. Wifi is weak, so the fact Im getting a Smart Wifi Pro device is fantastic and was hoping there was a way I can connect the Smart Hub Pro to the Sky FTTP or Sky Router and utilise the Wifi 7 and Smart Wifi Pro while I wait for the Engineer to come out and change my ONT?

I thought that as well... especially when they came back and said it will take 4-24 hrs to rectify itself... to be a Fibre Optic line shouldnt have any issues and especially not take 4-24hrs to rectify unless an engineer is required.

@RobBark8 Worth having a look at your Fibre cable installed, NO sharp bends on it, but part off the Engineer setup is to test the light quality so they have a good idea with no issues. Normally in that it is poor from the get go and will not improve by itself so if you do have to get a visit, ask the Engineer what the light reading is on the Fibre! Will have a look at your pictures once they get cleared. Run the test link below, but you really need to do it Ethernet connected to the Router!

Cannot care about you phone device, it is not even showing as a WiFi6 in the display!

So, EE phoned me back and they are sending someone out tomorrow 2-4pm... From my work experience, I asked could it be stuck on the old 900mbps profile and the guy admitted it does happen that the profile doesnt get changed. Its weird that it never goes above 900mbps which is what I was on previous.

@RobBark8 That could be the case, your ONT would be changed out your pro also capable, and if you web to the router http://192.168.1.254 you will see what is set in that for the Up/Down sync speeds. 2.5Gb/s would be your value, but if the profile is stuck on the 900Mb/s then that is a EE/OR check, fact that it states you failed to meet the minimum 1.3Gb/s then looks like you have been profile updated, but may be an oops somewhere along the line!

Does not matter much your phone is just not going to cut it with the pictures you posted earlier! And the can now be seen!

Yeah, waiting on my S25 Ultra and that will give maybe a better indication with it being Wifi 7... but the fact that the app keeps stating its too slow and EE tech said he can see its currently 756mbps and hasnt went above 889mbps - im guessing is why he organised someone so quickly.

So EE guide came out, and couldnt figure it out... every device getting max reading of 900mbps to the hub... He did a light reading from the fibre and it gave a reading of 7. He said Ideal range is between 11 and 20... and it could be sending too much power down the line. So now waiting on Openreach coming out Friday.

Im thinking more its still on the Profile of 900mbps and even the EE guide thinks its possible. He said the fact that the Hub says 2.5gbps is because thats the port speed on the ONT, not the sync speed of the service.

@RobBark8 Sync speed is the Port Nic's physical hardware, if it synced at 1Gb/s then you would never get any more that the 900's that you are showing, EE decide what you get down the pipe so they should have a value around the 1.8Gb/s mark, just do not believe they have not tested and seen what the can do, it's to the ONT through to the EE Router and back again, but as it say's on the Tin failed to achieve the 1.3Gb/s min, then something is right profile wise! Left hand / Right hand syndrome i would say, push the blame elsewhere. Hopefully you get a OR specialist who knows what it's about! If you don't have a 2.5Gb/s nic get one pretty damn quick before he turns up, or that phone is swapped out! You may need to be the tester!

Yeah I have a S25 Ultra Wifi 7 device... the EE Guide did say he would have expected that to get at least 1.1gbps on Wifi... but again, thats what they say so we have to see whats going on Friday... as you say, hopefully whoever comes from OR knows what they are doing.

@RobBark8 As long as it does get that kind off speed that is all you want, couple feet away from the hub, max out the wireless wi-fi connection, only once over the 1Gb/s limit is ALL you need to know that it is capable off. If you get any grief of the OR Engineer, just throw it back and say surely you must be able to test over the 1.6Gb/s speed after all it's your equipment!

Here is an Asus picture, and that is not even stretched could go faster!
