To save setting up all of my devices & smart devices etc. Can I just change the SSID & Password of my new hub to match my old one?

Many Thanks

Hey there @Manuker, you can make these changes both through the EE App if this is paired with your Hub, or also via the Hub Manager too.

You can find all the details you need on how to do this here:

@Manuker Yes, quickest way to do it, but you may find some stubborn devices don't play 100%, installation program did take care by naming original IF it still does it, I prefer to do it all off line via Ethernet myself, but you are right do what you need and the way you know best!👍

Just remember to note your details somewhere, and that OLD factory reset routine, puts the details back to the OOB state.

@Manuker   yes you can.

Also depending on the router there is a facility in the app that does it for you.

However do rember to make a note of the SSID and password as it will no longer match the one on the card on the back of the router.

Luckily I've kept the sticker from the original router/hub everything was set up with.

Many Thanks

So if I plug my router into my laptop just to change the WiFi settings of the hub it should be fine? Im sure I did it before, I have the original sticker for the SSID & Pass they are set up on. Its just I'm "changing" from BT to EE..well, upgrading as they are essentially the same company now. Its just I have about 7 smart bulbs etc. I only live in a one bed flat, but I'm used to the laziness now and don't want to have to go back to using light switches like a caveman. Lol.

@Manuker Yes, that's the way to do it, cross fingers, and hope it all works out good. Remember to hit the save, when you make changes.

NOT the same company EE is EE, BT is BT, just all part of the same group, and EE now to be consumer division, BT to do the Business end...

Thanks again. Got a pretty good upgrade about 10x the speed for the exact same price.

Yes, but you could let the app do it for you instead of manually.

@Manuker

Just to chuck in a different perspective, I saw the new router/network as an opportunity to start afresh. But there’s just the 2 of us with a fairly small network of a dozen or so WiFi devices, and half of those are Alexas which are click once one has been added, so 🤷🏼

TBH I wasn’t even aware there was an app feature which did it.

Just via the EE app?
