Difficulties to communicate via landline between US & UK not possible

31 REPLIES 31

@Schockwave : '011' is the USA's international exit code, to initiate an international call before dialling the country code & the recipient's no. It is equivalent to the UK's '00' exit code. Therefore in USA '011 44' & '+44' are synonymous but '+44' is country independent. It's certainly not '0044' as you said when you are calling from USA.

@Monique77 : Don't tell your US pal to use '0011' as advised here.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP
Thank you, we shall try this as well, we have tried a digital and a standard call from the USA to the UK and neither gets thru.

@Monique77 As far as i can see you need to keep the number in the favourites section so that i does not get diverted to any off the VM options, have you tried also just switching off the call protect option then see if the call from the US gets through the routing to you landline? If you dial them from the UK end do you get through with no issues?

You were asked previously whether the US party tried has calling any other UK landline number, to confirm the issue is not on their end? I don't see an answer.
