Broadband dies Friday afternoon. Bot say will be fixed in the evening. It's not, but 150 says it's an Open reach power failure and won't be fixed until SUNDAY evening (appalling bad service). But it's not working. Bot gives standard message "network issues should be fixed in under 4 hours" and will run some tests and "text an update in 30 mins". It doesn't. 150 is now shut for the night. I'm supposed to work from home in the morning. Will I be able to, or do I have to get up early and spend an hour driving into the office? This lack of communication is completely unacceptable.

@Owen1961 You could see how things go in the morning. Sounds like a major fault in the area which can take time to rectify.
Relying on a domestic broadband without any contingency whilst working at home may not be the best way to do things.
EE offer a Hybrid Connect product which if you have good EE Mobile signal in your area can keep providing internet access if your main line fails.

Unfortunately that's not an option, signal has been useless since 3g was turned off, I rely on wi-fi calling for voice connection

Update. This morning Bot still had no information. When 150 finally started work, they could see no update, so they went looking and found a major service outage; car has taken out the BT/Openreach green cabinet a half mile away. So I reckon it will be dead for 2 weeks (no-one has offered an official estimate yet). Why that information was not available on Saturday they will never tell.

Is it covered by Check service in your area of any faults are being attended to in your local area?

@Owen1961 May be a fair estimate in time, changing out the street furniture is not that easy especially if it wipes out a lot of cabling, then the fun begins for OR Engineers reconnecting, will show how well they kept there documents up to date!

Service checker says mobile OK (not very accurate) and unable to comment on broadband (totally unhelpful). Whereas voice connection has been terrible since they turned off 3g (I have to use WiFi calling), and there is an Openreach MSO causing data problems for everyone in the area
