New router

Hi, I had an engineer come out to check my broadband as it was having issues, found there was nothing wrong although my speeds are drastically low. He suggests asking for a new router, how do I do this?

Looking at my Broadband data usage, I am presented with number such as 17690.53; however, the units are not given.So is this kB, kb or some other measure?
