Hi

Do EE still do this as when i try to search Broadband deals it just gives me Full Fibre broadband deals. I only do basic online stuff so don't really need Full fibre & FTTC is less hassle i guess.

Thanks

No the family hardly use the computer there is just going to be 1 account in the house paid by the family that includes landline & ADSL BB.

I contribute but it's gotten pricey as apparently it's not be regraded or something., been £48 a month for 6mbps for ages. It's in family members name so i can't go in shop without him & he can't get there to allow me to make alterations to account, they say he has to but am sure i can do it on phone.. . Confusing but will get sorted

That's the only thing that matters to EE! It doesn't matter who uses it or even who actually pays for it. The upgrading to FTTP can can only be done by that family member, the owner of the contract. You could do it for them online by using their EE a/c.

Yes it's his name when i login to the account but here in community it's me not my family member. I think 2 seperate accounts, one for community as i'm here for help  & the family member who pays the bill..  I'll try call & see what happens.. All so unstraightforward as said. Thanks

They won't speak to you about the a/c over the phone unless the family member has already nominated you to speak on their behalf. It's the family member's a/c. Best to upgrade online.

It's only not straightforward cuz you are representing yourself as the family member. Even here it confuses us. You started off by talking about your EE BB & somebody else's landline & we answered in that vein, but it turned out not to be the case & our advice did not entirely fit.

My family member pays for BB and landline. Only I use BB. The account is in his name. He can't get to shop. I login to his account online. So I guess online I can change who's name the contract is in so I can go to the shop even though he still pays. Yes?

No im afraid that isn't correct.

You would need to transact fully online via their EE BB account with their permission if you wish to be the one to sort it out. The name cannot be changed online or outside of life event circumstances.

Any contact points with EE (over the phone or in-store) would require the account holder (not you) to speak with them and will refuse to pass security if they are not present and available.

Ah ok I think I got you now. My elderly family member (account holder) can call or sitting with me, transfer the account to my name and he still pays the bill.

The only reason we want it changed to my name is because I want to go to local store to arrange fibre as opposed to over the phone or online, just easier to ask questions. Also because he's paying far too much for the 6.5mbps as it's not been regarded in a long time (i think that's what guy in store said last time I went in). Thanks

@gazmix_1973 Thought you had been sent this before, if not have a read!

How Can I Change My Broadband Account Holder? | Profile Help | EE

The current owner, the family member, of the contract wishing to be moved needs to call CS with both of you available on the line to effect a change of ownership. The other person, you, will need to pass a credit check. You will then be paying for that contract. If you can't do it together CS will give the current owner a password for the you to quote when you call.
