Hi

Do EE still do this as when i try to search Broadband deals it just gives me Full Fibre broadband deals. I only do basic online stuff so don't really need Full fibre & FTTC is less hassle i guess.

EE won't sell you FTTC when FTTP (Full Fibre)  is available in your area. You can still get the same speeds on FTTP as you would get on FTTC at the same price.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

Yeh i get you can just easier installation. Thanks. Not sure how to blank number out but it just says 'Exchange BEAUCHIEF is served by cabinet 6'

You were only on ADSL back in Jan. You might as well upgrade to EE Full Fibre.

Slipping in here, you’ll find that FTTP is more reliable than the FTTC setup, even if you’re on slower speeds

@gazmix_1973 As long as you do not have anything that would restrict your changeover then FF is the only option available unless you wish to just stay as you are without upgrading or committing to a new contract.

yes i guess i needed to be told. Off to the shop tomorrow.. Quick question, does my current BB package stay live until the engineer turns up as i guess that is when i'll turn on the new router for the first time?  Also is higher speed BB ok with an older pc like a Dell Optiplex? Am getting another nearer to Windows 10 end of life.. Thanks

@gazmix_1973 You have not said what EE Router you have, if you use a landline etc, but ASSUMMING that you are offered to get a replacement router then EE will keep you up on fttc until OR do the install of the new fttp system, test update there ONT and if you have a new EE Router they will ask for it, attach it to the NEW Fibre ONT, make sure that it goes live and works, then your old one will be off the grid so to speak.

Your Optiplex if Ethernet connected should carry on as before, with wireless and any off your older devices it's a wait and see situation, you hope 100% no issues, but be prepared for the unexpected.

Windows 10 and EOL is one that you have to personally deal with, my thoughts are who cares until they become a real problem and do not work, which may be many years down the road.

I'm unsure which router i have, it's quite old, about 6"x3" & about an inch in diameter, grey with thew 5 green lights in the middle top to bottom,... Pro's n cons.. Seems i have no choice from the old adsl system i got although i'd prefer the FTTC i think i dunno. 

I will post pic tomorrow.
