Hi, I have a ee smart router (white box with single circle) with WiFi discs, and want to keep the WiFi discs working. Port 4 WAN does not work, with no function to activate it, dumbed down box?
So, if I buy a ee smart hub (black box) does this have WAN functionality to use as router only? If so, is it automatic or are their settings I need to activate?
My reason for switch, can’t get fibre broadband above 12mb/sec but have got Starlink in bypass mode (Modem) ready to go into a WAN port of a router.
Thanks, Ian.
@XRaySpeX be grateful for you advice.

@IanB1971 you would be a lot better off getting a standard router than trying to adapt an ISP router which has no adjustments other than username and password which if required by Starlink will be very different.

Hi Mustrum, acknowledged, I’m looking to be armed with facts about the ee smart hub before I replace the router and wifi discs, not cheap.
Thanks for your response.

Note added: It’s is dawning on me that the smart hub might not work with the ee white discs, as the discs only work with the newer smart router? So could be wasting my time if the wan can work on the smart hub.
Might be time for router and mesh WiFi!

The WAN Port 4 does work when it has a source of BB plugged into it like a modem or the ONT of FTTP but it does not allow the bonding of 2 BB sources as it then overrides the DSL WAN connection. The Smart Hub is the same.
Which EE BB product have you bought? 12 Meg Fibre would seem rather slow.
1. Post your full router stats:
Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.
2. What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

Hi,
Here is the stats and log (next message) pages 67 to 76 covering the 17th Feb is when I plugged the Starlink modem in to the smart router wan port. I can see there is WAN detection going all, I understand nothing else.
Aside, we watched the man with XRay Eyes last night, freaky 👀.

@IanB1971 not sure why you are posting random pics, and not the ones asked for - but to do what you are trying to do you need a dual WAN router, and do a lot more research.
This may help to start https://www.draytek.com/products/load-balancing-routers/ but others are available - then you may also need to think about Wi-Fi.

Hi, I posted the router stats and log from connecting to the WAN port.
For clarity, I have only connected the Starlink BB source to the WAN port my EE rj11 incoming ee BB was disconnected I.e. one source of internet only.
In the router manager advanced settings would hitting the ‘Disconnect’ radio button stop the router from trying to access BB from ee ‘system’.
I hope the above makes some sense, I am a layman here for sure!
thanks, Ian

Thanks but you haven't told us what BB you have bought from EE & you haven't posted the BTw Availability Checker. It looks remarkedly like ADSL2+ not Fibre.
Now please post the Home > Status page when the only BB connection is the EE BB over the DSL port.
