Turn EE Smart Hub Router into DHCP Server

Hi

To extend my current Wifi signal to other parts of the house I have bought Wireless wall plate access points - Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAPs) .

To setup an EAP my EE Smart Hub router needs to be a DHCP server. Where do I enable DHCP within my broadband settings?

Under the  advanced settings I can set the DNS type to maunal, but I dont know what the DNS should be for primary and secondary.

The EE SH is a DHCP server.

Are you confusing DHCP with DNS?

  • DHCP is for dishing out local IPs to your local LAN.
  • DNS is for looking up Net domains for their remote public IPs.

You'll find the DHCP settings on the same page as the DNS.

@wottonearth   what devices have you actually got? It is far easier to advise when we know the device you have.

It sounds like WiFi extenders with a fancy name - maybe the marketing people looking for a new way to describe them, although I am aware they meet defined protocols/standards.
