EE Smart Hub Plus poor range and connection strengh compared to BT Smart Hub 2

Our BT broadband contract came to an end so we've moved fully to EE now and been sent out an EE Smart Hub Plus to replace our BT Smart Hub 2. There seems to be a considerable reduction in range with the new EE box and an unstable or poor wifi connection in parts of the house that were fine with the BT box. All in all it feels like a downgrade, has anyone else had similar issues with the EE boxes?

I'm tempted just to send it back and stick with the older BT box but not sure if that will cause any issues down the line..

Thanks

We had a copper connected Plus Net router and changed to Full Fibre specifically to get more range/power of wifi signal - but it got worse!   Also, going back is not allowed.  More than disappointed and don't know what to do.

@RayAJK Changing one to the other has zero effect on a wireless wi-fi signal!

Hmm.. well the sales pitch was that changing to Wifi6 would improve it.

@RayAJK Changing to Fibre should in theory improve the stability of the line from Exchange to the Home, Wi-Fi6 going up MAY increase the speed device wise but NOT by leaps and bounds and only if all your devices are also Wi-Fi6 capable, as for the ability of the EE Routers and where they are placed with regards to the now Fibre position, and the operation of One against the Other then that is a completely different topic subject! Having seen and worked with the BT Smarthub2 on it's latest FW and the position that the user had it in was not the greatest rating was a 2/10, the EE Smarthub+ was good at one point all i can say about that debacle!
