EE SMART HUB sh31b with netgear orbi rbr50

Hi all, have an essential fibre 36 broadband connection with EE using the old style adsl line. I don't have a phone connection.

I want to use the netgear orbi rbr50 and two rbs50 satellites with the ee smart hub sh31b so I get wifi signal throughout the house.

Can someone please give me a dummies/simple guide on how to do this please?! Thanks

 hi for connection mode it was set to  dial on demand i changed it to ALWAYS ON is that correct?

So new hub has come as recommended and i set it to bridge mode, was there ANY other settings I should have input into the plusnet router that im using for my EE home essentials broadband?

On the orbi router i entered the username and left password blank. After a lot of faff seems to be working.... However i got a warning from orvi to say netgear router ip changed to 10.0. 0.1 as was conflicting with the 192.168.1.254 one.. Is this ok?

Ive firmware manually updated the orbisattelites and orbi router... Should daisy chain topology be left on or off?

Thanks

After setting up a plusnet hub on bridge, updating all firmware on orbi sattelites and router... When syncing this is what i see... Could it be a dodgy sattelite? Should all be green r8ght? Sattelites are synced wirelessly to the orbi, daisy chain is on, thanks

So I'm getting no issues in the basement where the router is. On the groundfloor where satellite 1 is connected wirelessly to the router the Internet keeps disconnecting.. Soemetimesbsee the ssid but won't connect. Scrolling through the orbi settings on the new assigned ip 10.0.0.1 i found the attached.. Blurred out mac addresses but it shows the backhaul connection between the router in basement and groundfloor sattelite is poor, the ground floor sattelite is connected well to the 1st floornl sattelite but i guess if the Internet signal is crap its going to dissappear on 1st floor also?!

So luckily theres a comms cabinet in the basement lots of patch panel connections... Should I put a lan from the orbi into that snd and then corresponding one in groundfooor into lan of the sattelite? Any any connection from plusnet router thats now in modem mode? Thanks

@eeforlife  always on is correct.

There is no need for any username on the PN router when in bridge mode.

The Orbi changing internal IP addresses is fine, it has just detected a clash and take steps to avoid that.

As for positioning and using ethernet, much will depend on the spec of the cables but worth a try and see what works best for you.

Thanks, so if i want to connect my groundfloor sattelite hardwired to the router, theres a comns cabinet please see pic... Could you advise if i need to buy a switch and if so which one is cheap and will do the job.. Only have a 18mbps connection at best! If no switch then which wires go where please? Hopefully this ee connection will work well after this (i miss fibre!)

@eeforlife  really not sure what it is you are trying to do and would have no way of knowing how your property has been wired.

You would only need a switch if you have run out of ethernet ports on the router. TP Link or Netgear have a look https://www.amazon.co.uk/Network-Hubs-Switches/b?ie=UTF8&node=430573031

Thanks, as the wireless backhaul is poor between orbi router and sattelite 1 i wanted  to connect them both through the patch system on the wall. I will figure out which port relates to upstairs.
