Hi all, have an essential fibre 36 broadband connection with EE using the old style adsl line. I don't have a phone connection.
I want to use the netgear orbi rbr50 and two rbs50 satellites with the ee smart hub sh31b so I get wifi signal throughout the house.
Can someone please give me a dummies/simple guide on how to do this please?! Thanks

Thanks for the reply, appreciated,i connected from the ee lan to orbi lan port, managed to disable WiFi on ee hub and change orbi to access point mode and it works. I also added a sattelite on another floor and works fine (didn't connect into the wan port as per picture, but if i should please advise?)
Whats the main advantages of using the orbi rbr50 as a router over the ee one please? I saw on that site the modems aren't much so if theres much better advantages would like to utilise them. House is basement (where btline modem/router is) ground n 1st floor. Thanks

@eeforlife thanks for the update, but you should use the internet port (WAN) on the first Orbi. Think that WAN is an input, LAN is an output.
As for router mode, I believe you can't use the Orbi app in AP mode, there will no doubt be other features and protection not available in AP mode. It is much neater when it comes to fault finding to let the Orbi manage all of the network, whereas currently the EE router is dong most of the work still.

Yes, you should plug the cable into the Orbi's yellow Internet WAN port.

Yes you should switch it, although it is working now, there will be something not working properly that you will find out about in the future. It could be when you plug another device into a LAN port, or some other thing, then you will be left head scratching, so best to put it right now.

Yes, that's the correct wiring.

Hi, so i switched it but my sattelites won't sync to the rbr50 orbi router! I reset them a few times and tried syncing again but keep getting a solid magenta light on them. I'm confident it was working before i put the lan cable from the ee hub into the yellow Internet socket on the prbi router(set as access point). I can use wifi from the router but sattelites won't sync anymore.. Any advice why?

@eeforlife yes that looks like it.
What should I do if my Orbi router can’t find my Orbi satellite?
If your Orbi satellite's ring lights solid magenta or pulses magenta, move the Orbi router closer to your Orbi satellite. If the Orbi satellite's ring LED is still pulsing magenta after about one minute, and you
