EE Broadband - Smart Plug

Below are steps to follow to connect the smart plug with EE Smart Router (Latest Router). 

 

Step 1: Open the Router Manager Manager page http://192.168.1.254 Login with your details. 

 

Step 2: Click on "Wireless" --> "Change Settings" --> "Turn Off 5 GHz" --> "Save"

 

Step 3: Click on "Home" --> "Advanced Settings" --> "Firewall" --> "Configuration" --> "Disabled" option should be selected. --> "Save"

 

Now on your mobile switch off the Wi-fi and again switch on the Wi-fi 

 

Follow the process of connecting the Smart Plug as instructions provided...  now, it will connect.

 

Once the smart plug is connected you revert all the changes back. 

Turn On 5 GHz --> Save

Firewall - Default --> Save

Yes, that's almost the usual way of doing it but w/out your Step 3 which is unnecessary. In your Step 1 you also need to move the 2.4 GHz band away from Smart Channel.
