Dear EE Customer Support,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am a customer using an EE broadband router smart hub and I would like to request assistance with enabling manual DNS settings on my device.
My goal is to use a third-party DNS filtering service (such as OpenDNS or CleanBrowsing) to better manage and protect my family’s internet access, including filtering inappropriate content and blocking VPN usage.
Currently, the DNS settings on my router appear to be locked, preventing me from customizing them. Could you please advise if it is possible to unlock or enable manual DNS configuration on my router? If so, I would appreciate guidance on how to proceed.
Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your response.

It can be done with the right router at the latest firmware level. Which EE router do you have (read label or post a pix)? There are many going under the moniker "Smart Hub". Which do you have & what is its f/ware vers.?
For the Smart Hub Plus @ f/ware level r3.8.11-R-1414606-PROD-83002 you may switch the DNS in the router, under Advanced > My Network > IPv4 Config > DNS Servers, away from EE's AUTO ones to OFF with your own choice of DNS..
P.S. This is not CS but a user discussion group trying to help others.
