EE Broadband APP WifI Controls not working

Mart30
Explorer

I have recently signed up to EE Broadband.   My broadband is working fine, however the APP WiFi controls feature and the Wifi enhancer are not available on the app or via the website.   An error message appears and states it is a problem with EE.  I  have spoken with the technical team at EE on two occasions and they have recommended i reinstall the APP and restart the router.  I have now done this many times and the APP features are still not working.   This is very very VERY frustrating!    I am going in circles with the EE technical team and it is not clear how or if this will be resolved.  EE is not living up to expectations.  If there is an issue, i would prefer EE acknowledge the fault and advise when it will be fixed rather than directing me to do the same thing over and over again (i.e reinstall the app).   Can anybody help?   Is this new feature just a myth?

Hello, only just spotted this thread but I'm also affected with the same issues. Unable to manage my smart hub plus at all since moving from BT to EE. I'm getting this issue on a Pixel 7 running Android 14, also in my web browser on MacOS 14.2 (Firefox) as well as an iPad Mini 6 on iPadOS 17.2

Hi @norwoody, sorry you're unable to manage the hub since moving to EE.
I've sent you a Private Message so you can get in touch with the Mod team for help with getting it fixed.

Cheers

John

I’m having exactly the same experience 🤬

Broadband gone live today, I try to do the setup via the EE app  , I scan the QR code and it connects and even tells me that “You’ve paired with your hub” but clicking the next button in on that success message does nothing, and if I leave it sends me back to the start of the process!

Hi @Ricako and @SBarwell75,

Thank you for posting. If you send me your details, I'll get this investigated.

I have sent you a private message with instructions on how to contact the team.

Thanks,

Paddy

I set my new router (or whatever it is) up today. Same issue with the controls. I phoned ee and was told this is a known issue and they should have a fix in 30 days. I unplugged the router and I'm now using my old one (which works fine). To summarise - ee's fault. They released the new equipment before it was fully operational. Not impressed.

@StormSparrow : It is a router & you may use practically any router on Full Fibre (FTTP).

Thanks (can never quite remember what it is). Yes, I had FTTP previously with ee and have the white router (smart hub?) so will continue using this until the controls are sorted. I called them as I couldn't change the password on it. I've also been told that the smart discs I bought from them won't work either with the new router either. At least they work with the old one. On a plus note, when I plugged in the new router the speeds were impressive and I've not changed that (500).

@StormSparrow : It's the white Smart Router! See Changing Your WiFi Password on a Smart Hub. It's the same process.

Thanks. I tried that with the new router and a message said I couldn't do it here and I had to use the app. I then tried the app and no joy. I can change it that way using my old router. It just seems that ee are in a mess with this new one. No doubt they'll get it sorted eventually.
