I'm not sure this is accurate. AFAIK it is possible to pair a BT router using the EE app, specifically if you have moved from BT > EE and retained your Smart Hub 2.
That said, I've seen a few threads about pairing issues recently so possibly a wider problem somewhere? 🤔
