Date for FFTP

We have full fibre cables to the telegraph pole outside of our house but no idea when the last 30 m of full fibre cable will be connected to the property. It seems to be imposible to get any dates from EE or BT Openreach except sometime in 2026.  Other suppliers, Virgin, are saying that if we switch contracts it is available with them but I don't believe this is true. How about a bit of transparency for the customers.

Haven't you been given an installation date?

@Trattobay If OR are saying sometime in the Future then that is about as good as it get's! Wait or move is all the choice off the End user, even if exit fee's have to be paid!

Hi JimM11, thanks for the reply.

I checked the BT site that you suggested which told me:

  • The cabinet that I am connected to.
  • The speed for FTTP on demand 300 Mbps
  • That FFTP is not available for my property
  • That my local exchange is not a FFTP exchange .
  • The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme.

You have to ask why dig up all of our pavements when there were no solid plans for upgrading the exchange.

@Trattobay The exchange side matters not anything as that is all controlled further up the food chain, the factor is OR are trying to get as much done as possible by whatever means they can, and it all takes time from the exchange to the home, spines and branches on the Fibre.....

My area VM were up the pole top used all the BT Infrastructure ducts, stuffed some off the homes because off what they did and went live Sept 2023 on there connection, with VERY little take up, OR came along got well stuffed by what VM did, the ones that were all good went live 1st Sept 2024, i ordered 2nd Sept one false start and live Mid Oct 2024 after OR stepped in and did as requested with zero issues, the others are just now managing to get connected so 18months on many civils teams cross road digging, paths are all a mess, new ground boxes, mix up's with planning you name it it's happened and for the future still halve the homes are waiting and OR now dealing as a per order change and apply, it's a mess!!!!

Have attached my BTW so you can see when it get's approved for viewing!

My BTW with all it's warts! My BTW with all it's warts!

FTTP On Demand is a v. expensive business product you won't be wanting. You need to be looking for WBC FTTP.
