Connecting a Smart Hub to a Router

Hi, I have an EE SH31B Smart Hub and I'm trying to connect it up to my Asus TUF Gaming AX3000 V2 router. I have set it all up in the same way I have with previous broadband providers, except the WAN light on my router is red - indicating no internet connection. The smart hub works fine without the router, so the problem must be something with the connection from the smart hub to the router. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm wondering if perhaps the smart hub doesn't allow connecting to a router?

@Hugh33 Are you looking to keep the EE router as the primary and connect the Asus as a secondary, if so Asus wan connection to the EE router lan connection, and the Asus does not require to be set as specific router mode. Smarthub+ connects fine, have my Asus XT8 hanging off the lan port on the router, both previous on fttc, and now on fttp.

If doing away with the EE Router then setting it up as the required link below. And connect the wan port direct to the OR ONT.

Have you got :

  1. SH+ LAN port > Asus WAN port?
  2. Asus WAN Settings for Ethernet & not for PPPoE?

Hi, yes I'm interested in having my router as a secondary, I've tried doing this method and still I see a red LED 😞

Hi yes the ports are as you describe, and the WAN settings are set automatically to the correct ones, but I'm still seeing a red LED 😞

@Hugh33 Here is a wan setting page from my Asus XT8, see if it helps when you compare.
