Hello everyone, I live in a basement flat in Bristol BS8, where the mobile phone reception is very poor, I can't use mobile broadband, I can't find any broadband socket or open reach in my flat, only one socket like this, I don't know exactly what this is for and whether broadband can be installed. the landlord told me. all of the cables are linked from the top of her apartment. And the building is old.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

@Aiden10 The socket, connection middle next to TV Ariel connection looks like a standard BT phone connection, one to the left not enough detail to be seen, if you look in yourself, count how many pins you can see. If you where to have a phone etc, the landlord should surely be able to tell you what is available.
If it is live phone wise or can be connected by your ISP, then phone would need an ADSL filter applied to that socket. If you have a separate address for mail, then check out the BTW address checker below. USE the address box, fill in at least postcode and go from there.

@Aiden10 they look like ethernet connections.
You should ask the landlord what the other end is connected to.

If this interface can be used, it has the same function as the open reach socket

That looks like one of the original ADSL line splitters, one side was for the phoneline and the other for broadband.

Is it similar to this router that can be plugged into the mail?

Thanks for your help I found something like this, but I don't know what it means. Does that mean I can install broadband directly?
