Hi
I have just moved over to EE from Sky and trying to set up the websites I had blocked on their service. I have the Smart Hub plus and the app which in the most part seems to be working ok.
I don't have any connected devices in groups at this time but when I add a website to block, it says the website can't be added. I have seen posts that sites can't be blocked on the smart hub so I am assuming (and hoping) that this is not the same as the smart hub plus? These websites aren't particularly adult or gambling / gaming / socials, so I don't think parental restrictions would cover them but I just don't want to be able to access them.
Please tell me that a smart hub that looks quite new can at least have features a 7 year old router from Sky had?

Hi @DanSev,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting.
You should be able to add the website URL to the blocked sites in Parental Controls. Have you tried following the step here - Set up, control and use Parental Controls
Thanks,
Paddy

Hi Paddy
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have already tried the guide linked. I can't add websites to the general connected devices (that aren't in a group) so I created a group and it can let me add there. The further issues are I can still access the sites on devices in the group with the block on, and also I can't put my phone that I have the EE app on in the group so I can't block the website there.
With Sky, it was really easy as I logged on to the Sky website and simply added the blocked sites there and it was immediate and all devices without the need to put them in groups first.
Edit - seems directly connected devices are blocked now but my work laptop uses a portal connection which seems to bypass the block, also the main device with the app on can still access the site. Neither of which happened before, everything was blocked from accessing the site.

@DanSev - I've a suspicion that not being able to add the device the app is running on to a blocking group is intentional to avoid somebody locking themselves out of the app controls.

@bobpullen That is right Bob at it works right now there is an intentional restriction on helping to protect the devices being used to manage site blocking from blocking itself.
