What a pain it has been to switch over to EE to get new router and faster speeds. Initially I was told they can order the 1.6gbps broadband from EE as I had by complete WiFi and i agreed only then after the phone call ended I noticed they simply transferred over like for like package on EE and found I then had to pay more not much but still £1 more. I was later told to let my order complete and I can then regrade and get the 1.6gb fibre from EE. I then checked on EE and it was still showing as I have the 900mb package. A few days passed, however to my surprise it now shows I can get rhe 1.6 gbps package from EE. So when I called again to day I was told I can’t get it even though I am on full fibre fttp as the people on the phone said they can’t see the offer so can’t provide this to me so firstly I was misled and missold what I was ordering then now their site doesn’t match it states I can get which is mis advertising. I have spent a number hours on the phone.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Are we all talking to the next gen team in the Belfast office? As i am not saying they doing great, but weekly update are slowly not good enough now we into 3rd week with loss of all services, i be asking how i can complain, and see if they will escalated it, it so ht and miss what sort of help ou get depending on who you speak too some a lot more helpful than others, still not 4g hub even if 3 times i was told one been ordered

Well i called EE and BT up today, BT still has m account active, and EE said i have to pay the BT bill even if I I had no connection for that period and once the EE order is complete i will get a refund, Speaking to EE next Gen it seems the issue is with the amount of light and nt hitting the speeds, so i let them know there been a kink in the fibre just before the plug for the ONT has speeds issues with BT usual rebooting both unit sorted it out and thought as. Upgrading i see if issues still with new hardware, so i told EE just in case it is a factor. I decided to reboot the EE router and ONT, now the PON light is solid green and not flashing, but router is not connected to. It and it is using my BT halo 4G router, not fibre, and been told again a EE 4g hub is being sent out via DPD so we shall see as it the 4th time now
back to the light issue they said from my limit knowledge that has to be at a spliced join and not a plug connection if that thinking is right it either the join of external and internal fibre, and i been told they have lodged a complaint but had no emails or anything to confirm this

Forget the solid PON light it went red and now back to flashing

How can a company so big and highly recommended be so useless.
There is something more to this than what we are hearing.
Why is no other ISP offering a 1.6Gb package, Does this package actually work.
I made a post on these forums how many people were happy with a working 1.6Gb package, Only about three replied it was working good.
Makes me wonder.
Is anyone happy with EE - The EE Community

I know Tim,im sure they not advertising 1.6gb on the tv adverts, and yes why a EE only where as all others providers speed not the same, feeling like we are taking park in a semi open trial of the 1.6gb, it obvious EE is not ready as can’t even send out a 4g router as issues as we on a different system that the main system does not recognise our system
Openreach also **bleep** poor and obvious dont have the staff trained you on the new 1.6gb, as should not take 4 weeks to sort an issue out, so i feel a lot of clueless folks scratch their heads, we been used to fault test the systems it feels like

4th time lucky as had a DPD email about my parcel from BT as this will be the 4g hub as it been ordered a total of 4 times and this is the only one to get this far. Update later once it is here and set up
