I have just been moved to EE under a new contract, as I need my phone moved to 5G, they told me to do the broadband at the same time as they are all one company.. now they are sending a new smart hub plus.. but I use BT discs and they are not compatible! But I can pay 10 a month for extenders! I feel ripped off now! I will send the new hub back and keep using my old one.. is this going to be OK? Really feel ripped off here. Can I revert contract?

@Websponge , if you did this online or by phone, you have 14 days cooling off period, so I would suggest speaking to EE to make sure that you do this within the 14 days, here is the link about orders and returns:

https://ee.co.uk/help/orders

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Doesn't everyone have to move eventually though? I don't mind going onto EE as long as the existing HUB works

@Websponge  yes the plan seems to be to mover everyone to EE - or at least new EE which is different to legacy EE.

That said, yes the BT router works just fin on New EE or legacy EE.

Just watch out as BT often want them back, but a call to the right teams has sorted that issue out for at least one other person.

@Websponge The BT wholehomewifi disks will work with the new EE Smarthub+ but the BT Complete wifi are only compatible with the BT Smarthub2. Either hub works on the EE service but there are issues with the EE app controlling BT router at present where some of the functionality is not there yet and you will have to use it as your MyBT will be shut down. The 1.6Gb service does require the EE router to get somewhat near that speed with wireless but not on Ethernet Lan. Depending on the package smartwifi is included with up to max 3 devices supplied. You should check to confirm if it is OK to return the EE Router. Which BT Router do you have currently? link below to BT disk's. Think you may have some trouble trying to go back to BT, but let the forum know. Also link to XRaySpeX chart for what works. HTH

This does help! The lady did say, she will mark the old hub as returned so I can keep it.. real pain as I can't use wifi6 until I buy a mesh and 3rd party router.. really bad communication from EE on this!  Thankyou

I have home hub 2 with the black disks, are you saying the black discs will work with the EE smart hub plus?

No, the black BT Complete WiFi discs don't work with the EE Smart Hub Plus ( SH31B) (SH+) router. It's the white "high st." Whole Home discs that do work with the SH+.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@Websponge  If they are the wholehomewifi then yes, look at the link, that range works with any ISP router, managed by its own app to connect to any ISP router. There are 2 versions of the BT disks. Wi-Fi 6 mesh does not depend on the router in a wired backhaul with the Router wireless disabled, so you know its all about the speed down to the Internet Broadband. Check the model number of your disk's to see what they are!
