I have just been moved to EE under a new contract, as I need my phone moved to 5G, they told me to do the broadband at the same time as they are all one company.. now they are sending a new smart hub plus.. but I use BT discs and they are not compatible! But I can pay 10 a month for extenders! I feel ripped off now! I will send the new hub back and keep using my old one.. is this going to be OK? Really feel ripped off here. Can I revert contract?

@Websponge BT Smarthub2 is really a pretty good product. Few teething problems with the EE router but getting there. Only issue will be your EE app trying to control the BT router, not fully functional yet.

I use the Web gui anyway, to log into the router. Easier!

@Websponge Not sure how the BT web gui works, but trust me to do anything more than basic you have to use the app and its not the best, especially for parental controls etc. Just giving you the heads up,

Thats why I use the GUI 😉  The Hubs IP Address (Gateway) you can load it on a browser and log in, you have full control, can change DHCP scopes, Advanced settings etc.. https://192.168..x.x/

or whatever your Hubs IP is... On phone to EE, to reverse the order, and go back to BT, then Ill switch to Virgin or something

So, After a lengthy discussion, I am stuck, I cant revert the contract back to BT, I have well and truly been shafted! i have too keep the old HUB2 as it works with  my disks, and they have said I can keep the Hub 3 Plus for future use, when I get my own disks or AP points, I sure hope any WIFI repeaters work with the HUB Plus!

Not with the SH+. Many of the settings you'd expect a router to have are just not there under the GUI. Some are missing altogether, e.g. DNS, DDNS, Save & Restore, while others can only be set by a dodgy mobile app.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@Websponge So you know, using the Asus RP-AX58 direct wi-fi connected to the EE Smarthub+ currently, Asus XT8 Router in double NAT behind the EE, both with no issue's apart from printing with the nat but just drop down to the EE for that. FTTC connected but fttp is now up the pole, so shortly but this all started Mar23, VM been live since Sep but would not even consider that. Eventually will end up all Asus with EE in box as backup if needed. And Powerline for Ring products wifi and lan.

BT Hub2 is a really good router do keep that in mind!

I need to do port forwarding, change the SSID and change the DHCP scope! I do hope the GUI lets that happen! this just gets worse and worse!!
