Had Great reliable service over the last year but today the download speed has dropped from 1.6Gbps to 50Mbps, when I called they said it was a know issue with "the package" whatever that means, not a local issue. Anyone else have the same?

Yup. And there are one or two of the same apologists in this thread, I notice.

Spoke to EE. They're 100% blaming OpenReach update that has impacted every > 900Mbps FTTP package regardless of ISP. They were saying the call lines will be open longer, than unlimited data can be given to phones (already have this).

Said it would be fixed within 24 hours. I'm not holding my breath.

Same here speed went from constant 1600+ sunday around 8pm down to between 36mb.they told me the same story that it's an issue with this package and said hopefully will be fixed within 48hrs.

easy to spot when the issue startedeasy to spot when the issue started24hr snapshot24hr snapshotSame here, I record my speeds every hour and this issue has been happening since Friday 13th at 11.35pm (approx), 1600mb expected - 40 to 50mb actual.

Spoke to them yesterday, they couldn't help me because my ee box wasn't being used as the primary router, literally could not do a thing. I called back an hour later after faffing about switching boxes fo rthem to tell me I had to go through to another depratment that deals with the 1600mb line, seriously I was on hold for a good 30-40  minutes listening to their awful misic selection. They told me they were have a nationwide issue and it may fix itself or it may not an I'd have to call again today if not.

WA3 area

I'm making the assumption here that it'll need to be an ONT and PPPoE connection re-establish once it's resolved on the BT end. I'm not expecting it to suddenly work without some sort of local fix.

Apparently my connection has been fixed after "an engineer visit"

But then this was updated yesterday and no change yet. Any updates?

Mine has the same update - that page is useless.

Also only about 70 Mbit/s download and still not working at normal speed today (16th).

TF1 area.

Spoke to EE and they confirm it is all 1.6 Gb customers.

I'm guessing they have done an update to the service model and it has gone bad. Would be nice if they reverted back to the working system and diagnosed their issues without ruining the service for their customers!
