I have purchased a SIM for use in an alarm system. I do not need data allowance. I have set up a seperate account to manage this SIM, but looking at the options for top-ups it appears I have to spend a minimum of £5.00 per month to keep calls active, even if I do not use the calls allowance each month. Have I got this right or is there a cheaper way to do this, meaning that I do not lose my credit if I haven't use the allowance?

@lisacymru That’s if your using packs and they last a month. You can have a normal PAYG where the credit pays for calls/texts. You just need to sent a text to 150 saying STOP PACK. This will put that sim on a normal PAYG. Make sure you send the text by using that SIM card through. Your credit will last until used up. But you need to make sure a text or call is made every 2-3 months to keep the sim activate. SIM cards go in to hibernation of no use after three months so this is very important to make sure it is used within this period.
