new phone number but old number is still showing

Hi All

I've just changed my number but when I message others via txt or WhatsApp, I keep getting told that the message still pops up with my old number showing... does anyone have any idea's why and also how do I stop this confusion

Your WhatsApp conundrum is probably covered by this WA help article.

As for text messages, are you using iOS? And are the people you're texting using iOS?

A text message is sent through the mobile network, so if your number has correctly changed there's no technical reason for this. Do outbound calls to the same people, show as from your correct number?

What phone do you have? Android phones run on "Android" OS, Apple phones run on iOS.

Its an Android phone, the Samsung A51

In which case...

1: When did you change your number, was this today or a few days ago? Have you rebooted your phone since?

2: Do calls you make, show as the right number?

3: Do calls to your new number, work ok?

4: Do texts to your new number, arrive ok?

Last Thursday and I rebooted my phone the same afternoon, it was changed on line by EE

I don't make many calls, the new number shows up on my work phone when I tried it

it works fine, no issues

I txt everyone who needed to know about my new number, my wife and mate have Samsung phones, my wife sent me a screen shot this morning showing my old number still comes up on her phone when I TXT her this morning
