internet throughout the whole of my flat

Hello, can anyone please help me with this query?:

I have the EE smart hub set up in my office but I want to be able to gain access to the internet in my living room but I can't get a signal. I bought one of though booster things from Argos but it didn't work. Someone advised me to buy another smart hub and set this up in my living room, but I don't know. I thought I would be able to do an online chat with EE, regarding this matter but evidently that isn't an option. And I thought I'd be able to just buy another smart hub via the EE shop but that doesn't seem possible either.

I'm Deaf so unable to ring EE for more information.

Any advice you may give me is greatly appreciated.

Is the living room directly adjoining the office with perhaps only a wall to separate them? Do you receive a wifi signal at least if you are in the same room as the hub? (If the TV is the device of interest, it may be inconvenient to test this.)

Can you relocate the EE Smart Hub to a position where signal is received in more rooms of your property? Have you disabled the 2.4 GHz radio thinking the 5.0 GHz radio is more performant when in fact you need to leave the 2.4 GHz radio enabled as it has greater range?

How are you thinking of deploying a 2nd Smart Hub?

  • You can't have 2 routers feed by the same BB line from 2 sockets.
  • You can have 2 routers in series with the main one feeding the secondary one.

@DingozDilemas A booster won't work if it can't receive any signal.

The way a booster works, is it receives the signal from the hub, and then re-broadcasts that signal again.

The repeater, or booster, can't rebroadcast the signal if it can't receive one from the hub, which sounds like the most likely cause as you mention you can't get any service in the living room.

You may be better off buying an access point, or a hub, and placing that into the living room, and then you'd need to link the two together via an ethernet cable. You can then setup the access point which will essentially distribute wireless signal into that room.
