iPhone 12 and 12 Pro preorder thread

Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!

Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.

Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.

What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

Oh.

I don’t know how they are getting a tracking number either seems BS.

Both my order numbers from email an my EE don’t work so don’t see how that’s possible for others 🤷‍♂️

I asked about the tracking numbers at some point. They said they won’t track until the phone has been picked in the warehouse

Makes Sense.

Update on my phone arriving today (12 PRO Blue 256GB).

After no update, and my EE tracking changing from expected 02-07/11 to 'awaiting confirmation' I spoke on live chat to someone yesterday who said will arrive today.

I have still had no message from DPD about a delivery today.

Phoned and spoke to a rep over the phone (as wouldnt let me connect to live chat again) and was told all he can tell me is 'My phone is with DPD'. He also said, as I havent received anything from DPD it is very unlikely my phone will arrive today.

I should expect a text from DPD this evening, to arrange a time for tomorrow for delivery....

Not ideal, but I can wait another day. Frustratingly took the day off as was told it would be today, and will need to be off tomorrow too by the looks of things. Will raise for compensation if possible if it does not show up today.

I also received a magnitude of texts from EE to say my plan up updated onto my new plan for iphone 12. So it does look as if its finally on its way.

Hope everyone gets their phone, and will update if i do receive today/tomorrow.

I 'pre-ordered' on 21st (when upgrade was free) and expected tomorrow (at the latest).

This ties in with what I was told '14 days'

From what I gathered, every other colour, besides gold. You’ll get within 14 days of ordering.

For whatever reason unlike other phone companies that are telling you that they’re out of stock, are creating a backlog of all these orders, so we’re left on a goose chase.

Sent from my iPhone

Oh,

Further to this, EE themselves couldnt provide me with any DPD reference to track the delivery. I was told this would come from DPD in their text.

Not sure how people are tracking DPD from their order confirmation, as I didnt even receive an email, just a txt message with the link to EE tracking.

I ordered on 18th, confirmed on the 21st. After contacting online chat a few times  and then last night it changed from 2nd-7th nov to awaiting confirmation, so I contacted them again and they told me last night that it would just be when they get stock. Half an hour later I got notification from dpd app saying they where waiting on my parcel. Received my iPhone 12 pro 128gb Pacific blue today 😃

^^ Describes EE all over.

Just had a follow call from complaints.

Same thing really.

Apologising not knowing when I’ll receive it.

Awaiting from apple the manufacturer to fulfil there orders.

EE tracker says 5th - 10th of November after being delayed initially from the 2-7th.

I’ll probably give it another week from today then if not confirmed update just cancel.

Apples cost companies a-lot of money over this colossal mess.

Oh well.

This is inaccurate. I ordered the pacific blue and I’m officially over the 14 days.

i think everyone seems to jump at EE for this and blame them for the issues, the only thing EE are doing wrong is there poor communication out publicly.. or to people who have ordered...

the fault lies with the suppliers and manufacturers (Apple) not EE ...

so in essence why is everyone threatening to cancel... all other providers are in the same boat ... so your no better off...

i had a lovely chat with CS the other day, where the person said all they receive is angry calls or abuse... and just kept apologising to me...

these representatives are just doing there jobs... they are human! if you want to blame anyone its Apple...

we have to be patient..
