Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!
Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.
Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.
What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

Why are people assuming this is all EE's fault? It's Apple's fault, for goodness sake. It's also just a frigging phone - it's the not the second coming of the Great Prophet Zarqon. It's not the Holy Grail. It's a phone.
As I've said elsewhere, if you're that desperate to get this new phone, you can probably find a device more quickly elsewhere even if you have to fork the full cost of the phone yourself. Look at the timings from Apple directly. Look at the other phone providers - they're all struggling with supply and it keeps changing all the time (Three had the availability listed as 2nd December just the other day!). Look at Amazon.
Also bear in mind that we're in the middle of a flippin' global pandemic, there have been supplying problems, and Apple is ramping up manufacturing as much as possible to meet demand.
There are substantially more important things to be worrying about right now.

Maybe EE should learn to communicate (both internally and externally) a bit better? And treat their customers with a bit of respect. All this has revealed is how shambolic the company really is.

Maybe if the upset people are upsetting you stop reading the thread?
This is exactly the place for being annoyed with EE and the shambolic way this has been handled.
yes there are other things to worry about and more suitable places to worry about them. Not here on a thread specifically created for this purpose. 👋

@Rubberducker Troll-like? Just because you disagree with me or find it patronising (some people need to look at what they're posting), it has to be troll-like? No, I'm pointing out the obvious. People who threaten to leave, complain or generally think that this situation is the entire fault of EE are the trolls. People are not thinking straight over a phone which will eventually be delivered. This is the problem with e-commerce these days - people expect things done yesterday.
@Vernonnicky1 It's not upsetting me - the point is that other people are getting far too upset for no other reason than impatience. The phones have only just been released two weeks ago and seemingly in limited quantities. The phones will be delivered, but the ever-changing dates for delivery are not the fault of EE. People are being far too impatient, and having a lengthy thread like this isn't going to help matters other than just to blow off steam. The thread started off as a comparison of dates, but has since turned into "let's blame EE, booo" whinge-fest.
As for people who placed orders before others and haven't received their phones, but subsequent orders have - I guess that depends on when the order actually hits the system - I'd imagine the number of orders that are being processed right now is substantial - and this can lead to non-sequential order processing. It is unfortunate, but at the same time, it is not the end of the world either.

Upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro pacific blue 512 - ordered on 21st October.
On Thursday I received an update via the EE track facility that the phone would be dispatched between 6-11 November.
Yesterday (Friday) I received a notification from DPD saying they had the phone.
Today at 1200 I received my phone.
I hope this puts a few minds at rest.

I agree with others, you are very patronizing. While I agree it’s mostly on Apple, my problem is with how EE is handling the situation.
and as for the “it’s just a phone” for some, that’s their only communication to their family over seas. Like me. My great grandpa is dying, my iPhone XS Max is going out, I can’t video call my family anymore. And I can’t afford to just shell out so much money at one time right now because yes we are in a global crisis. I’ve paid for this device. I’ve been given 3 different time frames for its arrival and it’s still not here.

Sounds like best thing to do it not trust the tracker on EE and just wait for that text from DPD. I’ve not been waiting long so not too worried right now

We ordered the same phone. I ordered mine the 16th at 2pm....how did you get yours first. Makes zero sense!

Ordered mine on the 20th, then heard nothing, then they said on live chat the order was not processed until the 21st. Was also told to contact live chat daily for updates by someone called Carol, I done that, and today was threatened if I did not stop they'd send me a formal letter!!! Absolute joke, was told that I would receive at numerous different times. I got offered £20 compensation, which I was about to go ahead with until they disconnected me from the chat, so today I went in a new chat asking if I could get my compensation which they refused. They honestly want to make their minds up, absolutely shocking...

A chat disconnecting when promised credit lol
They will claim there was no record of this but you know it’s there.
Always try to remember an take note of the agent you’re speaking to an time stamp it.
That way they can either reconnect or you can state what was said.
Either way it’s BS
Happened to a-lot of us I’m sure.
Still waiting for my iphone 12 pro 128GB gold from ordering on the 18th of october. 🤨
