iPhone 12 and 12 Pro preorder thread

Saw that there was an XS/XS Max thread back in 2018 and fancied seeing if anyone would respond to a new one for the iPhone 12 preorders!

Ordered myself an 128GB iPhone 12 Pro in Pacific Blue, albeit it with minimal photos showing the new colour so I'm a little nervous as someone who's gone Silver for the past few years.

Order is currently sat at Order Confirmed, Awaiting Confirmation for the delivery date but I hope this evening (as per previous years) it changes to delivery for Friday.

What phones and experiences has everyone else had this year?

I've cancelled my order today, can't wait any longer, EE have had since the 17th to sort my order out.

Ordered a Pro 256GB Blue direct from Currys to collect tomorrow for £1022.07 (7% gift card discount) and changed my EE plan to SIM only Smart Plan with unlimited data for £22.40 a month (20% student discount). This works out much cheaper then my original Full Works order.

Anyway hope everyone gets their phones soon!

Yep.

Same as me although i ordered on the 18th.

Apparently the gold is the most desired colour.

I spent 15 minutes of the phone with a lady from Newcastle who was brutally honest and simply stated they have no idea when as the issue lies with the supplier ( apple ). Vodaphone, sky e t c all face the same issues.

You can call, email or text truth it they don’t know anything and our forced to be apples punching bag due to incompetence.

Tried to explain maybe covid, blah blah however every year the same issue is faced.

I said to her waiting isn’t that bad when you know how long the wait will be, but waiting for infinity is just stupid and for every person who cancels you lose a-lot of money.

The only reason I haven’t cancelled is because of how long I’ve waited.

Several complaints are already on my account but to no avail.

I’ll give it to next week Friday then if not confirmed date straight cancellation and never dealing with EE again.

Hey when did you order yours out of curiosity?

I ordered mine on the 16th. Email was sent to me the 16th saying I’d receive it on the 23rd. 26th comes around is it says 30-2. 30th comes around and not it’s 7-10. I ordered a 512gb pacific blue pro. Tracking number gives errors. Just keep being told “it’s on apples end”. No. I’m not buying it. People who have ordered after me are getting their phones. They don’t know what they are doing and their customer support is crap. This is my first year with ee and I’m not impressed. It says I should get 4g in my area and it cuts out all the time. Slow speeds. And now this. After this contract is up I’m going back to o2. Prices are cheaper, better service, and their customer service doesn’t treat you like this.

Multiple Apple products are seeing supply constraints, including the new iPhone 12 models, Macs, iPads, and some Apple Watch models. Apple CEO Tim Cook today told investors that Apple is "working really, really hard" to remedy the supply issues.

If you look at iPhone, we're constrained today. Not a surprise at the front end of the ramp, and how long we'll be constrained is hard to predict. We haven't taken orders yet for iPhone 12 mini or Pro Max, so those are coming and we shall see. Right now we are supply constrained, and for avoidance of confusion, we're constrained on Mac and iPad and some Apple Watches.

A fair number of areas of focus right now and we're working really, really hard to remedy those as quickly as we can. At this point, I can't estimate when we'll be out of that.

Several of Apple's iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models sold out within a few hours of launch, and many new orders are now shipping out later in November. We can likely expect to see similar constraints for the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro Max and 12 mini, as these devices were held back due to rumored production issues that required Apple to wait to build up enough supply.

Given the situation with iPhone 12 and 12 Pro pre-orders, those planning to purchase a 12 mini or 12 Pro Max should plan to do so right when pre-orders go live on Friday, November 6 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

As for the Mac and iPad, there have been long shipping delays on some models throughout the last several months, and many Apple Watch models also sold out quickly after launch in September.

That still doesn’t explain why people who ordered after us are getting their phones first when it’s a first come first serve basis. It also doesn’t excuse EEs handling on the situation.

That’s because it isn’t.

A system that’s generating orders by randomisation as opposed to correct order.

It isn’t a human so it can’t be chronological.

It doesn’t excuse EE’s handling of the situation at all i agree.

However every phone currently is experiencing the same thing.

So all you’re going to get as we apologise:

May be noteworthy but most places have the standard iPhone 12 model available for next day delivery.

It’s only really the 12 pro suffering this big shortage.
