Yes, a mobile phone plan customer but it could be PAYG.

I'm not sure I understand the question correctly, but if your asking do you need to already have an an EE Account or some form of existing Plan before you can take on a 4G MiFi Device or Data Plan then No you don't you can just sign up for a 4GEE Device and Plan as a New Customer.

 

Or if you already have a suitable Device, ie, an Unlocked 4G Router then you can just take out a Phone or Data SIM Only Plan and use that in the Device that way.

Ah, OK, some do, some don't!

 

  • For the 4GEE Home Router 2 it asks you to log in & if you don't already have a mobile no. it insists on 1.
  • For the 4GEE WiFi Mini 2020 it doesn't do that. You can buy it w/out an existing EE a/c.
