What does a '500MB data add-on' give me? I am on PAYG at the moment for calls and texts but I need to be able to send and receive emails and access websites when away from home Wi-Fi. (I will eventually get a proper monthly contract but this is an urgent temporary solution) e.g. how many emails will 500MB give me? Thanks.

Not a lot but normal emails don't usually use much.
How much data am I using on EE? might give you some clues.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Hi @ForeverYoung ,
Judging from the below link and estimating that each of your emails should be significantly below 1 MB, you should be able send and receive more than 500 emails (likely a lot more if few 10 MB attachments).
For a month worth of Google Maps navigation, light browsing, and social media, I would recommend at least 2 GB per month. Good luck! 🤓
