Improvements to the Web Site - Gifting Data

KM182

How do you give advice to the Web designers of EE? The issue I would like reviewed is in the process of Gifting Data.

When gifting data, the process is painful at only being able to add 500mb at a time. Why can we not type in a larger amount in one go. For example, when I want to share high amounts such as 100gb, the only way for me to do it is to click the + button on the screen a ridiculous amount of times. This is certainly not user friendly...

Surely it already does this. Instead of keep hitting '+' can't you just type the amount?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Hi @KM182

The system is designed for people with multiple lines not just those with one line. The limits on gifting data may also change to be more or less than 100GB, but the minimum allowance you must have is 500mb so it makes sense that this is the increment used.

I'm sure EE have stats on the average figure gifted.

Any feedback is always welcome.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

You would think so as that would be easy, and please trust - I have tried it every month I gift data!

I am using the Microsoft Edge browser, with cookies enabled, but nope - I click in it for all it's worth, with no effect whatsoever (no cursor to show data entry, and even pressing the keyboard keys in a vain attempt gives nothing), with the only way to increase/decrease is with the + and - button... Very frustrating and backwards thinking... (unless of course it's an issue with the Edge browser).

Thanks Northerner, but I'm afraid I don't quite follow that multiple lines or a set number would be the reason to prevent direct data input.

Disclosure being I am not a web coder, however I have seen even the most basic of web data entry fields detect if an input fits within a rounded figure criteria (e.g. I enter 30gb and it approves the entry. I enter 30.1gb and it rejects the entry with simple message - the basics of spreadsheets since the year dot). Any clarifier of mb or gb could be added surely?

And even if the amount I wish to gift is higher (or lower) than average, surely the goal of good web design is to cater for ALL users...?

Please trust - not picking an argument as I appreciate your input, but you do say any feedback is always welcome 🙂

Okay, To the EE Community Team - I'm not quite sure of how this all works, but I've had an email from yourselves saying that if I haven't had the 'perfect answer' (the words in the email recieved), then to post a comment for the EE Team and they will help.

So this is it - I sill don't know how to pass on my advice to the EE Web team. Could you tell me the process as clicking a button 200 times (no exaggeration - to give 100gb it takes 200 mouse clicks) every month is (in my opinion) a very poor design flaw, and I'm sure EE want to give the best service possible to their customers.   🙂

Best regards.

It's slightly easier if you use the EE App, instead of having to click on the + and -, you can use the touch screen with your finger to quickly scroll up or down on the desired Data Amount you wish to gift.

Download the App and give it a go.

Thanks for the feedback @KM182 🙂

Have you tried the My EE app?

Leanne.

EssexBoyEE/Leanne,

Thanks both for your suggestion about the app... Yup, you're right! It is easier so I shall look to adopt that as my monthly method until hopefully the website may be reviewed and brought up to scratch for ease of use.

Best regards.
