Tap to Speak

I'm sorry, I know this has been asked before but I can't find a solution because I seem to be in a catch 22.

As soon as I try to search for anything or enter an email address my Alcatel phone shoots up with Tap to Speak instead of a keyboard.  It says I have to log into my Google Account to disable it but how can I get into my Google Account when it won't let me type in the address?  I tried speaking the email address I use but it types "at" instead of @ and "dot" instead of a full stop so that doesn't work.

There's nothing in my general phone settings that I can disable so I'm totally baffled.

Any suggestions please?

Hi Katie,

Thanks for replying.  I can do:

System,

(Languages, Time, Backup, Update ..) tap that and get

Languages

(Google Voice Typing) tap that and get

Keyboard and Input Methods

Virtual Keyboard

(Google Voice Typing) tap that and it says

Google voice typing

Automatic (that takes me to advice to sign into Google which I can't do)

+Manage keyboards (click that and takes me back to)

Google Voice Typing

Automatic

Oh, after all that and days of struggling I've just got rid of it, happy accident I clicked on "Reset Apps" and it's GONE ..Hooray 😀  Thanks for trying xxxxx

Thank you x

I was so fed up with it that I was seriously thinking about doing a Factory Reset and while I was looking at those options it said "Reset Apps" and that you wouldn't lose any saved data so I thought nothing to lose, I'll give it a try.

Was over the moon that it worked, as you can imagine.  My phone is just a cheap Alcatel and didn't seem to have all the settings that better phones have xx
