Hi,
I have a PAYM contract which has no commitment
As I am no longer UK resident, I would like to switch that contract to a PAYG.
I do not want to close that contract and open a new one, as I would like to keep my current number (which is linked to UK banks)
Would it be possible to do that while I am abroad ?
What's the maximum number of days / month we can leave the SIM card without top up to keep the phone number live ?
Thanks !!

Hello @laurenta16.
Thanks for coming to the community.
We do recommend changing your account to pay as you go be leaving the UK.
If you haven’t used your phone for any chargeable activity for 179 days, your account will go into hibernation and any credit will be removed. But don’t worry; at this point it’s not too late to reinstate it just get in touch with our customer care team.
When your number is in hibernation, it is still possible to get it back until you’ve reached 269 days of no chargeable activity.
After 269 days of inactivity we’ll send you a text to let you know the number will be disconnected within 24 hours.
After 273 days the number will be recycled and lost.
I hope this helps,
Katie

EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of nonchargeable-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.
