Can I transfer from PAYG physical sim to pay monthly virtual sim / esim?

As the title says.  I have an EE PAYG SIM card... and I want to switch to a virtual sim / esim on pay monthly without losing my phone number.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

@BigAl4  Any credit on the account that hasn’t been used to purchase a pack will remain on the account and go towards any future bills of that tariff.

Yes, You can do the switch from PAYG online by Switch to pay monthly and save . Your existing PAYG credit will be carried over as credit towards your future bills. You keep your existing SIM & no. The plan on it is just switched to contract. You then convert your physical SIM to an eSIM.
