Swap contract to PAYG after cancelling account?

Hi, I had a monthly contract account that I cancelled last month.

i want to be able to buy odd bundles of data on a PAYG basis - am I able to utilise my old cancelled number for this or will I need to grab a new SIM card? Thanks.

No, it's too late! You've cancelled your contract already. You needed to request the move to PAYG when you gave your notice to cancel.
