Spend cap

I have a spend cap, and it never seems to work I’m constantly between £10-£20 over.. what is the point in the spend cap if these don’t work? My partner is with a different network and he never goes over as his spend cap actually works. What does the EE spend cap actually work for?

Is it possible to identify the charges pushing you GBP 10 to GBP 20 over?
