When I drag down at the top of my phone, there is a message say that my sim is not working correctly and has been set to read only. Can you tell me why this is happening, and how to put it right. TIA

Hi @JaneD1961,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Which phone are you using?

What is the exact error message you see?

Thanks

James

Hi James I'm using Samsung A40, the message doesn't come up all the time, that's what I don't understand. It says there is an error with your sim card it is on read only to protect your data, words to that effect.

Thanks for your reply

Jane

Hi @JaneD1961,

Does it definitely refer to your SIM card rather than a SD card?

Thanks

James

Hi James you're right SD card, sorry

Thanks Jane

Hi @JaneD1961,

Is your memory card old or damaged in any way?

Have you tried removing and reinserting it?

Thanks

James

Hi @JaneD1961,

Do you have another SD card you could test in your phone? This would help us find out if the phone or card is at fault.

James

Hi no I don't and also not had messages on my phone today??
