Sim card Not Working in EE tablet

It has the EE logos in the top left corner but it has no dial tone when i try to call 150 or 360 to top up my new sim card, does the sim card need to be activated to hear a dial tone ?.

@bigppj20   What tablet is it ?  and where did you get this from ? 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
