I upgraded my phone on the 5th march in a we store for a pre order Samsung s20 ultra and have heard nothing at all since. My current phone battery is failing rapidly.

i know there is a pandemic going on but what’s annoying me is why haven’t I heard anything at all about my order

Tbf I preordered from a store and paid a deposit and I understand it doesn't guarantee day one supply but I was told they would have stock on release and wasn't advised it could be weeks later, seems a bit mad to take cash to secure a product they cant deliver in a timely manner. I assumed the preorders were so they could gauge an amount needed to be sent to the store on launch. and then after that, it's first come first served.

That is the idea @Doodle-s  but if EE ordered enough to cover their pre-orders from Samsung it doesn't mean Samsung delivered the amount they wanted.

If EE sold 1000 pre-orders EE would've ordered something like 1500 to cover themselves. Then Samsung sent like 500. Thats a short fall not down to EE as they ordered enough but failed to receive them.

The Ultra was always going to be the popular one. Every year is the same.

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ was the same. S9+ and S8+ was the same. It will continue to happen. Samsung can never keep up with demand.

shouldn't be surprised at this point the S10+ was the same fiasco last year, for the price of the phone the contract and the preorder charge I'd have expected more transparency, I'd be less bothered about waiting if I just got told it would be month-end in the first place.

Maybe Samsung should stop handing them out to YouTubers and let the paying public get a fair shot! 😂

Called publicity and its basically free publicity. But I bet you not all those YouTubers actually got them free.

OK may not be free (cost of the phone) but it means they get their phone out there advertised for free.

I have spoken to Samsung, and was told that they have fulfilled their pre order requirements to all carriers. So I think EE sold more than they had ordered, thinking they could get more.

I'm starting to consider opting for the s20 plus instead as even Samsung doesn't know when they'd be able to send more stock cause of this whole pandemic.

If the store has stock that wasn’t for preorders this should definitely be coming to us for preorders.

I cancelled my preorder with EE I even ended up going in store after that in EE as I was able to reserve last ultra on stock on Friday 13th but cancelled that as well as they was messing me around....

I've now opted for S20 Plus with Samsung directly.

It really is disappointing, both from EE and Samsung.
