Samsung s20 ultra order

I upgraded my phone on the 5th march in a we store for a pre order Samsung s20 ultra and have heard nothing at all since. My current phone battery is failing rapidly.

 

i know there is a pandemic going on but what’s annoying me is why haven’t I heard anything at all about my order

I've received the same email regarding returning the old device even though I returned it on a special delivery service the same day as my S20 arrived. I also had no reminders at all so this email is clearly automated.

 

I was told 42 days (6 weeks) is how long you have to return your old device. Personally I wanted to get it sent back asap in the hope of avoiding EE trying to charge me for it on my next bill.

 

I didn't get a response from EE to state they have received the device which is unnerving given I've just posted an expensive device 😬

 

Just had my buds delivered as I wrote this message, at least a small consolation after an absolute ordeal in trying to spend 2 grand with EE.

@5hIfTy yeah I had same got a reminder on my account so that i didn't get charged. I got an extra 4 weeks added to my package but when I downgraded on Sunday they sent a new returns pack out. Still waiting to review it tho

 

@rhiang1984 absolutely buzzing for you mate... Nice little package. I got the same.

 

As for the device its a massive difference to the s10 which I had previously. Everything has been transferred now and updated which took me about an hour with bank detail updates and so on... my only issue with the phone so far is face recognition.... my s10 was perfect, but with the s20 ultra it very rarely recognises my face so had to turn it off.(I ain't an ugly f@$%er so that isn't the reason haha) Tried everything and just read online its an issue with s20 ultra. So just using passcode and fingerprint recognition. All in all it seems to be on point and sd card working perfectly. ( if you want to have all your photos go directly to sd card make sure you go into camera>settings>storage location(turn this to sd card)

I've just gone through the setup and it was worth the wait, screen buttery smooth and tried a few pictures on the camera and haven't found any problems with the AF at all.

 

Just placed it on the fast wireless charger it says 2hrs plus, on the cable 54 mins 😃 so as before the wireless is an overnight job.

 

Love the buds plus too, sounds better than the old buds and haven't suffered any drop out.

 

Edit: I sent my old buds (after a thorough clean) to my son in Oxford, next day service via Hermes, he got the package delivered but it was empty, someone sliced open the bottom of the box I sent it in and nicked them, then taped the empty box back up 😡😡😡 so guess who's going to get an earful tomorrow morning, thieving scum, I will never use Hermes again!!!

@Dave1458 Sounds like your well happy mate. I know I am... face recognition is due to lighting issues. Works perfect outside, just when a little darker it causes problems and sussed that out. I've got all settings optimised for beast mode at moment checking speed at 120hz what a difference, battery life drops an hour but refresh rate and app opening feels like I'm getting full experience of phone and its noticeable. Not really bothered about battery with a 55mins charge time to be honest.  So far definately worth the wait.

what day did you buy it, and what model? was it in the store or on the website?

I downgraded from 528gb on Friday just gone I always order over the phone and I got it in grey

Make sure you open the developer options and reduce the animation scales from 1x to 0.5x, this along with the 120ghz refresh rate is incredibly slick!

 

When you guys get a chance to have a play with your phones for a bit, can you let me know if the range on your bluetooth seems reasonable? Especially those with the buds, I'm finding I can only walk about 10 metres away from the phone before the signal drops? Thanks guys
