Just returned from Cyorus where I had to purchase a new handset. I cannot make calls or send text messages. Keeps saying register device. How do I do this?

Hello @adamelaney1

Are you saying that a phone you purchased abroad, doesn't work with your EE SIM in the UK? Does it show signal bars?

Did it work with your EE SIM in Cyprus?

Couldn't use it there either for calls or texts but could use it for internet, emails, Facebook, WhatsApp,  etc. Wasn't a problem as had a Cypriot phone which I used for local calls. Just assumed it would work once I came back to UK on my PAYG.

Wondering if I need to register the handset or Sim

All the functionality you describe as working, is all internet-based and could therefore have worked over a WiFi-connection without any mobile network involvement.

Where did you purchase the phone from? Blacklisting is certainly a possibility here.
