Hi,
I've just been given an Osprey Y855 and it has firmware version Y855_E1_01.11_09 on it which I understand is the factory release. I've been told that there is a newer version available which is more stable, but when I click the Check for Update button on the router web interface, it doesn't update. It comes up with a box saying Version Information Checking, and after a minute it then says Error.
I've done a reset both in the interface and by the Power + WPS method but it still won't work.
Is there any other way to do an update? Is there a firmware file for it that can be uploaded to it?
Thanks
Andy

@Higgles1 You have put a working EE sim in the device?

Yep, I was testing it with my EE contract SIM. It worked for data from my laptop so I know it's connecting to the outside world.

Hi @Higgles1
It sounds like it's trying to update but being interrupted for some reason.
Are you running a fire wall or any kind of VPN?
Thanks
Chris

Nope, it's a straight Factory Reset -> Insert EE SIM -> Connect with Mac Laptop via WiFi (Chrome Browser) -> browse to 192.168.1.1 -> Click the Check for Update link (tried both logged in with Admin and not logged in).
Don't know what else to do.

It was given to me as I need to do some remote working.

@Higgles1 Thanks for that information.
Is the SIM you're using with it a contracted one with us or pay as you go?
The reason I'm asking is so I can determine if our tech gurus may be able to help with this.
Thanks

I've been testing it with my contact SIM from my phone before I buy a pre loaded PAYG data SIM

In that case the best thing to do is have a chat with our tech gurus so they can look into this with you.
Thanks
