Just came here to say the same thing... Even the OnePlus 6 has now got android 11 AND OnePlus 7 pro can beta test Android 12... Why has EE given up on the 5G version?

Just bumping this thread as it's now confirmed that OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are both receiving the latest 11.0.4.1. Why are EE being so slow at updating this 'flagship' device they had on their network? It's not up to OnePlus anymore this is all solely down to EE not pushing out the updates...

@Louioo Hate to say this but EE don’t create the software for this device and EE only test the software to make sure it’s ok , it’s down to Oneplus to build and then push it out. If Oneplus have decided not to push out this update then that’s up to them not EE. Oneplus can drop support for this device regardless of what device it is.

Hi @Chris_B It's interesting you say that, as I do agree with you that EE don't create the software but let's refer to a post from OnePlus in Jan 2021:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/a-notice-about-oxygenos-11-for-our-previous-devices.1351579/
Just drawing out this element:
We know our OnePlus 7 and 7T series users are also eager to have a taste of the latest flavor of Android. We have been working in parallel to release OxygenOS 11 to all these devices at the same time. As you may have heard, when porting Android 11 to the 7 and 7T series, we encountered a data decryption issue in these devices. We worked closely with Qualcomm and, with their support, we are already running a Closed Beta test. We expect to release the first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series shortly after.
Please note that the above schedule may vary for models purchased from our carrier partners, including Verizon, T-Mobile, EE, and others. Yet, we’ll work closely with them to deliver the best OxygenOS 11 experience for you at the earliest possible date, so stay tuned for the official announcement for the actual release.
That was January and it is now almost the end of the year, Android 11 is widely available on most android devices including OnePlus devices. The company would've definitely been in touch with EE, as a carrier partner, regarding Android 11 and still we are left in the dark.
The annoyance from my side/most others that comment on here is that there's nobody taking ownership of this. EE keep saying 'refer to OP as we don't make the software', yet OP have clearly stated they work with EE on this. Also it has been stated throughout the OP forum that all 5G updates are handled by the carrier, which then falls back down to EE. I'd rather EE just come out and say 'We've stopped providing support for this devices aswe no longer support it' rather than the usual 'Any updates we receive from the manufacturer will be pushed out etc'...
Anyway, rant over from me, this wasn't directed at you btw, it's just frustrating as a customer that signed up to this new 'wonderful device' from EE (which it still is btw) as an exclusive thing, has never really been supported by the carrier in terms of software support.

@Louioo EE only need to approve it it’s down to Oneplus to create the OS, once EE are happy with it it’s Oneplus who push it out. Now if there is an issue Oneplus have to address that issue before approval by EE. It starting to look like Oneplus can not address the issues so have dropped support for this on EE.
