I’m off shore working in the North Sea. Notice I am picking up 4G. Will I be charged extra for using my data. I understand calls and normal txt will cost but will surfing the net, Netflix, WhatsApp etc cost me extra?

Hi @wilskin93,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
After further investigation, we've found EE customers who connected to Tampnet were incorrectly able to use their inclusive data allowances.
I've had confirmation from our roaming team that connections to the Tampnet network will now be charged at the standard Maritime rates.
We're sorry for any confusion this has caused.
Thanks
James

@Faldo87 What network are you using? If it’s EE it’ll use your allowance. If it’s not EE you can use your allowance for up to 2 months if you are roaming on a EU network provider.

Depends on the whose 4G it is. If it's a marine provider you'll be paying through the nose for everything.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

It is EE I am with but tells me I’ve connected to maritime/aircraft provider. I’ve been told if it’s with EE then extra charges won’t occur?

Did this get resolved ? I’m heading to the North Sea tonight and would like to know if the data will use my allowance ? OR it charges you extra since it’s a maritime package ?
I’m with EE

Hello @Discos5.
Thanks for coming to the community.
If you connect to maritime whilst out at sea then this will not be included within your package.
Will you have access to WiFi?
Katie 🙂

Hello, yes we have wifi but it’s limited to 90mins per day.
I don’t see prices in data usage so I take it it’s either but a bundle or it will be expensive ?

yeah I seen that but didn’t give prices for data, only saying buy plans.
my friends bought SIM cards for £20 which gave them a total of 40gb of data so might do that but don’t want to be swapping SIM cards around .
is there a bundle I can buy on my plan that’s not £10 for 10mb
