New Voicemail message on my handset, can't clear it

I have a message showing on my BT DECT handset that says 'NEW VOICEMAIL'. I can't clear it, I don't have the 1571 service activated, I have no messages on my BT answerphone. Can anyone help me with where this message is coming from? I have two handsets on my DECT system, the message is only showing on one of them. I have been through all the menus on the phone and there is no reference to it. had the phone for years on a BT line, switched to EE earlier this year. Thanks in advance.

What form does this msg take? Is it verbal, a display in the phone's display, a text or what?

Have you actually dialled 1571?
