New SIM card

Hi, going from monthly contract to pay as you go. Received monthly paygo sim with a new number but want to keep my original number.

Did you receive this new SIM off the back of calling C/S to explicitly request a move from PAYM > PAYG?

Hi. I couldn't speak to a human about upgrading as calls were only for
vulnerable people, but during finding this out via a telephone appointment,
was advised I could 'upgrade' from my pay monthly to payg online.

No. Thought there might have been the option (online, from my account
page) to do so, but as there wasn't I wrongly assumed my new sim would use
my original number. Thanks
