My Nokia 5 (Android) won't turn on.

This morning, my phone was working fine.  Then, after leaving it for a while, I went back to it and it had shut off.  The battery was nearly full.  I tried charging it anyway, both at the wall and at a computer, but it didn't work.  I tried pressing the on/off button along with the volume up/down down for 30 secs (a soft/hard reset?), but that also didn't work.  There was no vibration or anything to indicate that the phone was on but with a blank screen.  I tried removing the sim card and SD card, but that made no difference.  The battery cannot be removed.  The phone did not fall and has no external damage.  I hadn't installed any software.  I don't know what to try next.  Any advice?

I went to try EssexBoy's suggestion but, as soon as I pressed one button it suddenly came on again!  No explanation.  I'd tried EB's thing yesterday but it didn't work, and again this morning, and nothing.  Now: it's on!  No rhyme, reason, or rhythm.  Curiouser and curiouser.

Hi @Barbara146

Thanks for coming to the community about this 😊

I use my phone for everything so totally get how important it is to get this fixed.

If you hold down the power and the volume up button simultaneously for 10 seconds does the phone reboot?

Thanks

Chris.

Hi @Christopher_B ,

Unfortunately, nothing happens when I do that.

Thanks.

B.

@Barbara146 Thanks for trying that.

As the phone won't reboot it limits what we can do to try and fix this. The best thing to do is have a chat with our Tech Gurus so they can look into this with you.

Thanks.

Chris.

@Christopher_B  Thanks for your help.

@Barbara146 No problem at all.

Please come back and let us know what happens.

Thanks.

Chris.

Try this -

Plug phone into charger, leave on charge for at least 10 mins, whilst on charge press both Power and Vol Up together for a long time, maybe 2 or more mins, release if vibrates.
